International Canoe
Back in the winter of 2013 HD Sails Gareth Caldwell approached us, to make sails for his International Canoe. We took on the project, as it offered a great test for our new design software. We worked alongside Gareth, with rigorous testing over the winter period.
For the Mainsail we have designed a full radial sail to give the leech profile stability, and support to the big roach. The mainsail is made using Contender’s ZZ04 1.5mm Technora Laminate, we chose this laminate as it gives great performance and longevity.
The Jib has been designed with a cross cut layout, made from Contender’s RSQ range. The jib is versatile, generating plenty of power, but not to sacrifice top end speed. It comes with two or three leech battens ( depending on jib area ) and if required a zip luff.
